This week’s Micrometeorite Monday: an I-type cosmic spherule from the Sør Rondane Mountains! I-types likely form from metallic iron–nickel dust released from asteroids. As they enter Earth’s atmosphere, they melt, oxidize and recrystallize, forming spherules of FeNi-oxides ☄️
