Yes, I'm not sure how to explain—Pearl definitely goes through it—but I can't stand 'trauma books' or misery porn. Perhaps because humour and love are more important. Perhaps because Pearl can be her own worst enemy. The point is never "oh, the misery" but "oh, Pearl,❤️ /shakes head/"
