Fango is sad to learn of the passing of director and special effects artist Yoshihiro Nishimura. Known as the ‘Tom Savini of Japan’, Nishimura’s bloody, bizarre films helped usher in a new era of Japanese hypersplatter following the J-horror boom of the 1990s.
