btw, Syrians in Syria can't access:
1. Github
2. Slack
3. OpenAI
4. Claude
5. nearly all the US hosting companies
6. nearly all the US software companies
and the list goes one
a friend of mine got his site suspended yesterday by BlueHost after two years of paying ~$200/y for their hosting, a service he renewed a few months ago btw, just because he is a legal travel agency in Syria.
what made them review his account their inability to send him the login code !!!

and it was a bug from their end that they refused to fix (he was not the only one complaining, check their twitter account).
They gave him zero time to backup his data, so his emails and website data are now kept as hostage by them!!!
this is just one thing from many we had to deal with everyday
Sooon the whole world (except a few countries) will be a hostage to US technologies that they can't escape from ...
sadly, and I am more sadly about my MENA region for being the most fucked up one related to this
