The latest donation figures are a reminder that British politics is ever more heavily reliant on a small number of super-rich donors.
Capping donations would help ensure political influence is earned through public support, not purchased through private wealth.
Thousands of UK voters overseas are disenfranchised by a postal system that can’t deliver their ballot on time.
That’s why we’re backing amendment NC19 to the Representation of the People Bill, calling on govt to explore safe alternatives to today’s postal vote lottery.
Ask your MP to do the same.
As long as mega donations are permitted, voters will worry that their interests come second to those of wealthy donors.
A donations cap would prove that politics can’t be bought.
