It‘s been an exciting first day of our symposium “Malaria in Focus” at @swisstph.ch. Presentations covered exciting work done to increase our understanding of #malaria & drive innovation into new & better tools. Looking forward to more discussions tomorrow on how innovations can have a real #impact.
Last week, @swisstph.ch Director Jürg Utzinger and I visited our long-term partner, the Papua New Guinea Institute of Medical Research #PNGIMR. We renewed our MoU, met inspiring Swiss TPH / @unibas.ch alumni, and explored new research directions. A productive and truly inspiring visit to #PNG!
🇸🇷 And here’s another example how sustained commitment, investment, collaboration and inclusivity can bring about positive health impact! Congratulations to #Suriname on being certified #malaria free by @who.int! 👏🚫🦟
Lookin forward to officially opening the 2-day @swisstph.ch Symposium "Malaria in Focus: From Research to Global Action" tomorrow. We have an exciting programme on 12 & 13 June with distinguished speakers from around the world! Live stream 🔜 www.swisstph.ch/en/about/eve... #malaria
