It‘s been an exciting first day of our symposium “Malaria in Focus” at @swisstph.ch. Presentations covered exciting work done to increase our understanding of #malaria & drive innovation into new & better tools. Looking forward to more discussions tomorrow on how innovations can have a real #impact.
Last week, @swisstph.ch Director Jürg Utzinger and I visited our long-term partner, the Papua New Guinea Institute of Medical Research #PNGIMR. We renewed our MoU, met inspiring Swiss TPH / @unibas.ch alumni, and explored new research directions. A productive and truly inspiring visit to #PNG!

The autumn semester @unibas.ch is about to start and we are looking forward to welcoming 25 new PhD and 62 new MSc students at @swisstph.ch. About 1/2 of our students are from abroad, many from the Global South, creating a unique diverse atmosphere and many opportunities to learn from each other! 🌍🤗
