Steven Guilbeault resigned from Prime Minister Mark Carney’s cabinet Thursday in a dramatic renunciation of the government’s new deal to support oil-rich Alberta’s proposal for a major pipeline to the west coast, a senior government source confirmed to the Star.
Before entering elected politics, Guilbeault was a famed environmentalist.
