I’m now remembering my time in Johnstown. The NPS rented our survey team an old steel baron’s mansion at the top of the incline. We drove govt cars. Man, did the neighbors give us the side-eye. +
Delightful! I always wanted to live somewhere with a silly, unique festival.
Eight twenty-somethings living together. Going around with cameras and clipboards. Driving out to abandoned coal mines, railroad bridges, coke ovens. Eating pierogis and drinking cheap beer. Good times!
