Update:
I love new sewing table!
I can't sew flush with the table part like I originally wanted yet, but I am Using it, and am happy sewing machine has a home I don't have to haul it in and out of.
Morale is High!

Let me tell you about my day while lying on the floor taking a break, bsky.
So, after a whole Gestation Period Equivalent to a Human Child, sewing set-up I eventually came up with was:
- buy For Now folding table to plop in my living room when urge strikes
- Keep eye out for something better

But I ditched my kitchen table, so best sewing surface is now...
