When Homo floresiensis was found in 2003, very few hominin skeletons were complete enough to measure arm-to-leg proportions. Lucy and Turkana Boy were really the only solid ones. Everything else was broken and fragmentary, making the hobbit's strange proportions hard to understand. 🧪🏺
