Saw a funny looking moth on the kitchen window last night. I think it’s the first Lilac Beauty I’ve seen.
Photo taken with one phone with illumination from another! Submitted to iRecord ☑️
I wanted get something good done today so I baked some Fat Rascals. They’re meant to have almond teeth really but I could only find cashews, so that’s what they’ve got. Still a bit scary looking.

Did our late Breeding Bird Survey near the River Cam this morning. Red kite, yellowhammer, treecreeper, kestrel and lots of whitethroat fledglings. Meadow browns were out in force enjoying the bramble blossom. And the Lincoln Red cows had a… gentleman visitor 🐂
Something going on with Norfolk Hawkers round us. Yesterday there at least 5 flying around my garden in Cambs and the local nature reserve Ouse Fen is full of them. No Water Soldier I'm aware of.
My Peregrine Falcon prints are now available! Each one is hand-printed and inked, with a limited run of 50.
On sale locally (or with UK postage) at Art & Soul in Beverley:

I've been playing with a new craft...foil embossing. There are parallels between it and printmaking, simplifying a design down, knowing where to have lines and not, working away with a hand tool. It gives me a similar flow state feeling. Perhaps you might like to have a go too haggytea.com/workshops

It feels like we're swamped with AI generated images sometimes, so it's absolutely lovely to see such a beautifully illustrated booklet for just a fiver
On World Parrot Day I thought I'd share my Parakeet hand embroidered brooch. Wearable piece of art which could also go in a frame.

While I’m waiting for some local outlets to get back to me, I’ve set up an Etsy (UK only) for the seaside bird booklet. It’s A5, 14 pages, 36 birds; any profits will go to Tees Valley Wildlife Trust.
