A few weeks ago, we revealed how @frontex.bsky.social was building an AI chatbot app to encourage people to self-deport.
I recently obtained a copy of the opinion of Frontex' own Fundamental Rights Office on the project, questioning whether it even made sense to build the app.

The chatbot shall provide answers, including legal advice, in many different languages although it was only fed information in English, new documents show.

The EU plans to triple #Frontex’s Standing Corps to 30,000, decentralise commands into seven regions, deploy to six third countries plus Ukraine, operate “return centres” to boost deportations, and build a new HQ in Warsaw.
