The biggest lesson I'm taking from the Broadview 6 case is that we have NO EARTHLY IDEA the extent to which these same tactics have been used since Trump retook the Oval.
As my friend/co-defendent @brianstraw.bsky.social says (www.oakpark.com/2026/06/09/l...) - this is generational.
I say this not to diminish the impact of what has been done here but to underscore that the clock is ticking and that Chicagoans are very resourceful
He was convicted on perjury charges, not for any of the actual torture. He served four years.

For decades, CPD Commander Jon Burge turned Chicago into a house of screams, systematically torturing Black people with the tacit or express approval of colleagues, prosecutors, and mayors. Because of statutes of limitations, he almost entirely escaped accountability.
