That is a lot of people (and daemons) for such a tiny apartment! I love the idea that they don’t fully trust Ken yet, but that it would be insane to try anything with how much muscle is now around Yuru. I just want someone for Yuru to be able to talk to who is outside all the clan business.

I missed Hana so much! She is so funny, and her plight of being married to Dera is comedy gold and their chemistry is unmatched! She also serves a great lesson for Yuru after correctly assessing that the boy is too trusting. Just because someone doesn’t hate you doesn’t mean they can’t hurt you.

Very interesting notes here with Ken and Legs/Arms. Evil Daemons can basically take their master hostage, but seem unable to abandon them once they’ve entered a contract. I wonder if Ken had a plan after trapping them in the Tadera house if Dera never came around…

This episode did a wonderful job giving us our first look at Isshou. He seems to have the utmost reverence for rakugo as an art form, but absolutely loathes the performers. It also gave us some important context that it wasn’t him that kept Akane’s father from advancing his dream, but his own pride.

I can’t help but think how awkward this must feel for Akane’s counselor. 🤣 I loved seeing more of Akane’s mentor and senpai, and how they worked to raise her spirits after her talk with Isshou. I’m excited to see what’s next as we close out the season next week!

I’m honestly a little surprised that Akane got to meet with Isshou & got the full answer to her question. Showing that he had justified reasons, while showing that Akane can acknowledge the shortcomings in her father’s performance, felt very significant in what was a surprisingly low-key episode.
