Universities in the U.K. forced off switches for thess detectors for the main anti-plagiarism software because AI detectors do not and cannot ever work.
Any GCSE examining board using them is opening themselves up to huge appeals and possibly being sued.

Yesterday my 14yo told us she wants to rewrite her English coursework because the school’s AI checker gave it an 80% score (ie 4 in 5 chance it was written using GenAI). It definitely wasn’t. Another way AI is fucking over the kids. I hate it so much.

Lol. Hey AI checkers, you're not taking my freaking —'s away. Before AI existed I had set up keyboard combinations to make them, because that's how I write.
So this is why they say it's 100% AI. Because 6 emdashes, 1 triad, and 1 ai phrase ("relentless"). Fucking hell.
