Heaven got another Jazz Angel today, as Pianist Adolph Johannes Brand, aka Dollar Brand, aka Abdullah Ibrahim passed away. Native son of Cape Town, South Africa, Ibrahim escaped the segregation of South Africa, and was heard by Duke Ellington in 1962 in Zürich.
