I was pleasantly surprised by the relatively low level of fatphobia in the Daria episode where Sandi gets chubby. Not bad for a show that also has a character who is a fat woman in a muumuu who runs around angrily demanding chocolate lol

If Lestat’s songs sounded as good as Brian Slade’s I would say that was the greatest episode of television I had ever seen. But alas

I think my problem with The Vampire Lestat is people keep comparing it to Velvet Goldmine but the fake music in VG makes the fake music in TVL sound like trash lol 😭
Daria herself is kind of presented like a vaguely feminist character but she isn’t really. She’ll call out sexism (mostly to defend herself from being slandered by the stereotypes of her gender) but I get the sense that “feminists” are just another group she feels isolated from
