Cool Hand Luke (1965) by Donn Pearce was adapted in 1967. Pearce cowrote the screenplay so the film is faithful. The film has many iconic lines that were added. While both take an anti-authoritarian turn, the film makes Luke an almost Christ-like figure. ⛓️🥚⚖️
