Sometimes Caturday coincides with the fava harvest and Grayson is intent upon choosing one to bat around on the kitchen floor. He loves to play with just-picked edamame and other legumes; hence his nickname, Bean Boy.

I started baking birthday cakes for friends during the pandemic, but had never made the cake *I* really wanted.
I just made that cake (chocolate cake with whipped cream between the layers), and I must say that this has greatly improved my day. I highly recommend baking for mental health!
