61 runs in 12 games (first nine only). That has to be notable, @slangsonsports.bsky.social? Maybe not all time but since 1993, I’d imagine.
Three of those 64 were free runners in extras, so today is comfortably in front.
(I’m not debating the worst rule in sports tonight, just noting that for the *statistics*, modern extra innings should be separated out.)
There were 12 games today. 64 runs scored total. That’s 5.33 runs per game
That’s tied with June 19, 2014 for the fewest runs per game on a single day with at least 10 games since the start of the 1990 season
ty @JayCat11 for the q early in the night!
Holliday has a minor groin strain and apparently none of their eight relief pitchers can play third base.
Modern roster construction sucks.
Ban the humidors.
Leody Taveras has somehow ended up playing third base, so the Angels have a rare legitimate case for bunting like crazy, especially against Bradish.
After a day spent talking about live balls, the league has 12 homers and less than six runs a game today.
Remember that MLB, 30 teams, and a few dozen broadcast partners and media companies are begging you to bet on this stuff.
Another high-quality at-bat from Alec Bohm.
If you're a fan of offense in baseball, Monday is not your day.
