Six Danes were involved in the air operations during D-day. Jørgen Kjeldbæk (photo) flew one of the Danish Spitfires. The ace Wing Cdr Kaj Birksted was unsatisfied with reporting from the beachhead & took off on an improvised tour in a Spitfire reaching the beachhead at 0600 👇🏻
