We’ve seen the largest decline in support for marriage equality in the last year, we are actively being stripped of our rights and protections. We have bigger issues than which company created the B-roll of the damn train. Support queer art, and force them to do better next time.
Let me also be clear: I don’t know anyone directly on the production team of this movie, I’m not defending them. I’m just very aware of the back ends of productions like this.
Is the train AI? Sure.
Should they have hired a real visual effects team to make it? Sure.
Am I going to boycott one of the biggest mainstream gay productions because they chose to make a shitty AI train? No.
