This is what I really don't get.
Roy is a very accomplished writer and editor without taking credit for other people's work, why burn all that good will he'd built up?

Roy Thomas saved Marvel twice by pushing for Conan and later Star Wars to be adapted into comics, so it isn't like he never had any genuine accomplishments. It's a pity he feels the need to grab onto other people's characters at the end of his life.
