Come work with CPC-CG colleagues in St Andrews!
New birth registration stats show that being childless at 30 is increasingly becoming the norm. Importantly, it’s too soon to know whether the recent fall in births will result in permanently fewer children or whether young people today will have (more) children later in life.
📓 New study by CPC-CG member Professor David Bell @stir.ac.uk finds that deteriorating mental health is particularly prominent among women under the age of 25, and in Scotland, with unemployment, under-employment and an unstable labour market possible contributing factors ⬇️
CPC-CG's Fei Wang argues that it’s not just more care, it’s better & more suitable care to fully meet people's needs. Important to consider this #CarersWeek, or we risk: ▫️ Increasing pressure on unpaid carers ▫️ Worsening health and wellbeing outcomes ▫️ Higher long-term health & social care costs
🌩️ The UK is facing a “perfect storm” in which people are expected to work longer, fund their own future care, and provide unpaid care all at once NEW @ukri.org CPC-CG Briefing highlights pressures on carers and the urgent need for policy reform, as we mark #CarersWeek www.cpc.ac.uk/news/latest_...

New publication ✍️ @parthpandya.bsky.social and colleagues use 40 years of data to show that later migrant generations are more likely to move and become homeowners than first-gen immigrants in England & Wales. Some groups, however, remain disadvantaged. www.demographic-research.org/articles/vol...
