New from Rozalija, queen of absolutely sticking the landing.
The collection's speaker is a student of various histories and a lover of the landscape that animates them, a landscape marked by rapid climate change. She finds herself through plumbing the disjunctures between the narratives she inherits, and comes to accept herself as a gay woman in the process.
Her manuscript captured me immediately. It quilts together a world out of a vibrant collection of myth, theology, and scripture—Orthodox Christian, Jewish, indigenous Alaskan, ancient Greek and Roman and more.
