(note: my journey down the Seaford line was stymied by rainy weather and an untimely Seaford/Belair line occupation, so I've detoured to the Port line. my trip southwards will continue once the weather clears)
On the northeastern side of the station is a park with a playground. Further east, along Elizabeth Street, is a small collection of shops and cafes. (4/5)
BOWDEN, 2.4 km from Adelaide, is perched on the edge of Adelaide’s Parklands, and serves the inner suburb of Bowden. It was rebuilt in 2018 during the Torrens Junction project, with a trench now carrying the line under the Gawler line, the Port Augusta freight line, and the R1 ring road. (1/7)
Fun fact: from Croydon, the railway line points almost directly at RAA Place (formerly known as Westpac House, Santos House or the State Bank Building), which was for many years the tallest building in Adelaide. It makes for some very dramatic photos of trains! (5/5)
