Jane Yolen has died at age 87. She wrote or edited more than 400 books during her long career; her best known was “The Devil’s Arithmetic”, a 1988 Holocaust novella about a Jewish girl who, during a Passover Seder, is sent back to 1942 Poland and experiences life in a concentration camp first-hand.
