Be aware the comments that actually get traction on this system are the ones that cite or bring up applicable laws, bring up questions around proper procedure like environmental review, or are personally relevant to the specific area…
I love the perfect, neat work of leaf cutter bees and ants. This year I’ve started setting perfect little circles even on tiny wood sorrel leaves. So cute! 🌺 🪴 🌱
Like if you are a military vet or family of someone buried at Arlington, the impact to the skyline and cemetery view is absolutely relevant.
If you can cite things like the city’s rules around height of buildings, or the impact to flight paths to Reagan airport, or all of a traffic study was done
This area was a nightmare when we moved in. It was brush up to your eyeballs, and all of it invasive. The unholy mix of bittersweet, honeysuckle, multi flora rose, and vinca.
But- black wild cherry, mountain laurels and serviceberry. A few years ago pawpaw babies sprang up too :)
Vinca removal project now at about 65% complete. For the first phase of this I planted golden ragwort and mountain mint, which have thrived. This side is getting royal ferns, sedge, fire pinks, and yarrow in the front.

This project has been such a slog. Omg. Finally off the needles and I’m ready to start something frivolous and selfish. Of course I have to put buttons on this thing. I really hate buttons. It may not be totally done until Christmas.
