Thanks to Open Doors to Future Possibilities for inviting me to speak at last week’s walk and BBQ in San Jose to honor our women veterans! We owe our freedom to their sacrifice, and it was great to celebrate the selfless service of these heroes.
It’s heartbreaking to see little kids appearing all alone in immigration court, without a lawyer. This week, I led 15 of my colleagues to introduce the Fair Day in Court for Kids Act, to ensure that unaccompanied minors get legal representation during immigration proceedings.
It’s been 10 years since the Pulse shooting, the deadliest attack on the LGBTQ+ community. We’ll never forget the 49 lives lost that night nor the many people impacted by this tragedy. We honor their memories by fighting for an America free from hate and senseless gun violence.
Earlier this year, I presented a $900k check I secured for the new Sí Se Puede Behavior Health Center in Watsonville. On Friday, I was thrilled to speak at the grand opening!
This facility will change lives, and I thank them for their work to address substance use disorder.
Trump ran on “ending the weaponization of government” yet has repeatedly used his DOJ as his own weapon to investigate his political opponents for crimes that don’t exist. He’s more focused on his personal vendettas than on the well-being of the American people.

214 House Republicans just voted to send $70 billion more to ICE and CBP with no guardrails to stop their misconduct. That’s on top of the $140 billion they already gave them last year.
Nothing to help lower the cost of living. It’s outrageous.
The proposed ICE facility near Gilroy likely violates federal laws and procedures. I applaud @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov and @sccgov.bsky.social for their lawsuit to stop this development, and in Congress, I am introducing several amendments that would block funding for this detention center.
