Uncertainty had enveloped Iran’s presence at the World Cup for months, following the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran. But on Sunday, the Iranian team arrived in Los Angeles ahead of its game against New Zealand on Monday.
The war had stirred doubts about the team’s participation in the tournament. It is set to play New Zealand in a Los Angeles area stadium on Monday.
