The new No Man's Sky update introduced some sparse stuff with an expedition requiring combat and community goals. It's my least favorite kind tbh. So much of it seems stuck at 1% while it waits for community members to get their shit together but they never do because NMS is largely singleplayer.
They added three factions, one of which you're placed in as the result of a personality quiz you take before starting the expedition. There's a competitive angle and it seems like the faction that's the most selfish and assholeish is "winning," what a surprise.
