Just completed writing a section of my book on 1st South Staffords. A successful trench raid in Italy. Completely wiped out enemy garrison: any resisting were killed, rest captured. Officers using revolvers, men with bayonets, hiding places destroyed with phosphorus grenades. A grisly business. #ww1
