Learning to trust the fact that “it doesn’t feel good around this person” needs to be enough so one of the hardest lessons

Today was my kids' last full day of school (a few half days left) and one came home crying because of how many friends are leaving for other schools next year due to redistricting.
Kid relationships are so hard. I don't have sufficient training to manage this stuff.
I've done what I can to reach out to parents of the friends he'll miss most, but I can only do so much if their info isn't in the directory. I had him give out little notes with my number, but 🤷🏻♀️
Am I being productive today? No. Am I being creative today? No. Am I getting some rest today? Somehow, also, no.
