Mumsnet’s where Alice’s godmother fell down the rabbit hole. She pulled herself out, for Alice. It wasn’t instant, we had hard conversations. Ultimately she saw the pain Alice and I were in and on the advice of her son followed @contrapoints.bsky.social She didn’t seek my help. Just put the work in.
It’s good to see the number of signatories creeping up…and someone who knows more about these things than me suggesting it could make a difference…the more signatories the better…please do write to your MP to ask them to sign…loads of template letters doing the rounds from the usual organisations.

We cried. From shame that these thoughts ever crossed our minds, for we’d have our children back in a heartbeat…from the knowledge that if they wanted to leave, four years ago for Alice, five-and-a-half years ago for Zach, how could we keep them safe now…from fear for other children and families.
Yesterday I met a friend for lunch, a mother grieving the suicide of her trans child. I thanked her for speaking to QueerAF about her son, for bravely sharing her darkest thoughts…the ‘silver lining’ of Zach’s death is that at least he’s not here to see how far things have fallen since he died.
This vital project is collating data on preventable deaths of trans people: suicide, murder, medical negligence, early or unexplained deaths; deaths that have not been recorded as trans deaths because families or systems hid it.
