I think I’m missing a little bit of personal context for the clear French comedy influence, but there is SO much to enjoy in Johnnie To’s Sparrow (2008). A femme fatale tries to weaponize her role for her own salvation before realizing she’s not in a neo-noir, she’s in shenanigans and silly gooses.
