Marjane Satrapi’s book Persepolis is great—I’ve taught it to hundreds of students over the years—but on a personal level, her book Embroideries affected me even more. Give it a read if you aren’t familiar with it.

The hardest part of having the same chronic disease that killed my dad & left my aunt bedridden should NOT be spending hours going back & forth on the phone with my insurance, PCB, & specialty pharmacy trying to get my monthly medication copay under $4,900…
But today it is, & I hate it.
I am in unpacking hell.
Someone please explain to me why I am so emotionally attached to all of these books…
