We can absolutely reduce waste: with reusable cups and foodware!
Switching to reusables in Toronto for matches and fan events could prevent 625,000 disposables and 11,250 kg of waste, Vancouver's BC Place ALREADY switched to reusable cups in 2025

We want less trash & more fun this summer! The City's single-use reduction strategy is delayed again but our City can combat waste right now with:
- programs for events on public property to cut waste & adopt reuse
- lead by example & start on pilots at City events & venues

- 66% of what this incinerator burns should be recycled or composted not burned
- Ontario has very weak air pollution standards, this incinerator could go over current limits

BREAKING: #FIFA ’s last-minute flip flop to ban reusable water bottles will add to single-use garbage in Toronto, undermine local efforts from host cities to cut waste, and cost fans more money to buy disposable water bottles. See our statement below:

This will roll back almost 20 years of climate progress in Toronto, and force municipalities across Ontario to plan for a climate we don't have anymore. Speak up here: www.torontoenvironment.org/premier_ford... #ONpoli
