Something significantly lighter than what I’ve been writing about lately. Fun spin on a fan / idol relationship
1122: For A Happy Marriage was a series I always greatly enjoyed, so I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to review Watanabe’s latest work. This is a serous subject matter, but I trust it will be done justice as the story goes on.
Today I learn Convenience Store by the Sea has a sequel novel that just came out in April... and there's a third in November... and there's a further two in Japanese waiting in the wings! I've been really enjoying the drama adaptation, so of course, I had to buy the second book immediately.
Learning another language is a constant flux of not being as bad as you think you are, but also not being as good as you think you are. And wrestling with those feelings while also having spent so long learning the language that you’re moaning about it while actively engaging with it anyway.
This is the perils of going on retailers to check release dates for future instalments of the things you’re reviewing btw. Writers beware.
