infantilization is a form of ableism that even disabled people are guilty of. If literature stumps you its supposed to be a learning experience. Novels are meant to challenge your brain. Being “made to feel stupid” is self inflicted defeatism. Getting stumped is a challenge to read more, not less.
It's bizarre how repeatedly people keep hijacking the conversation about Accessibility away from things like closed captioning, colorblindness support, alt-text for screen-readers, etc, to "Games should be easier to play, books should be easier to read, and shows should be simple to understand"
