I’m collating links on the above post to encourage mutual aid, networking, and support to help those affected by the @paizo.com layoffs. If you provide me any links I have missed, I will update the post!
that Foundry support was singled out as being more of an investment than it’s worth.
I find it interesting because the online community has always had a tendency to present VTT play as the default, and in-person play as an exception that shouldn’t drive design decisions as much. I have always 2/X

Signal boosting this. It’s important we help the creators behind our favourite games land on their feet!
SUSPECTED that this is selection bias (of course the people who discuss on Reddit and Discord the most are disproportionately likely to be in the VTT space!) but imo the news is basically confirmation of it.
The in-person community must genuinely be HUGE, judging from this impact. 3/3

Unfortunately, I've been laid off as part of Paizo's recent restructuring (paizo.com/blog/paizo-r...). I'm reopening my public commissions while I look for what's next; if you've been looking for an excuse to get your TTRPG character illustrated, please reach out!
Time to kick the elephant out of the room: Yes, I'm one of the people Paizo's laying off, my last day being July 7th.
My heart is broken to leave the best team I've ever worked with - a team I've learned so much from.
If you know of any game designer or developer openings, I'd love to talk to you.
