$10 says someone will pop into my mentions to scold about how underpaid academics have to hustle & get their bag &...yes, I know. That's me, too. But need doesn't entitle me, or anyone, to create any kind of time burden for others by appropriating faculty emails intended for scholarly communication.
Fellow academics: what is going on with fellow faculty members--who you'd think would know better & show some solidarity-- spamming our university email accounts with their marketing for pricey "workshops" they want to sell us? It's gross & was not a thing until very recently. Can it be stopped?
Having received a slew of these recently, I'm baffled that anyone who has ever interacted with an academic thinks "You know what these people will LOVE? More junk emails to triage, not just in their personal accounts, but in their university accounts! Mad ducats, here I come..."
