It doesn't matter how payments are processed. Many US states do not have sufficient laws on the books to protect your accounts from fraud. Until you are strongly protected from fraud and AI companies are responsible for fraud/inappropriate transactions, no one should be doing this.

Good point. Secure payment flows will likely continue to rely on tokenization and PCI-compliant payment providers, with AI agents orchestrating the process rather than directly handling sensitive card data.
