i just think it’s incredibly powerful and beautiful and i kinda wish the big names talking about football right now (*cough - john green - cough*) had given his art a little bit more of a shout out than just noting it as a weird and kinda funny thing that happens at DR Congo matches
2/2 but i’ve now sat through 3 different essays in which Michel Nkuka Mboladinga is mentioned, but none has noted that his stance is an artistic and patriotic art piece celebrating dignity, freedom, and national sovereignty and that his pose perfectly mimes the famous statue of Patrice Lumumba
