REMADE's data scientist, Kathryn, will be speaking at the @uniofreading.bsky.social Community Festival all about how the chemistry of Roman coins is revealing stories of rebellion & recycling in the 3rd century.
Come along to Palmer G10 at 14:45 this Saturday to hear all the details!
We're all set up at the @uniofreading.bsky.social Community Festival! Come see some Roman artefacts & see how coins were made! Find us in the Time zone in Palmer Quad.
Tomorrow (Friday July 25) is the Meet the Experts event at @romanpalace.bsky.social & we have very kindly been included in the experts you can meet!
Come say hi, check out artefacts we've analysed, chat copper chemistry & design your own replica Roman coin!
We're analysing the copper alloy finds from the Roman remains right now & it's great to visit the site on our lunch break (if there's a break in the rain!).
Check out the latest @uor-research.bsky.social blog post to learn more about how REMADE's analysis of the Cunetio Hoard coins is revealing details of rebellion & uprising during the Roman Empire's Third Century Crisis ๐ช

Fishbourne Roman Palace
Camp Hill promontory fort, Lydney. The Iron Age defenses are still well defined. There is a Roman settlement within the defenses, built around iron mines. It was excavated by Mortimer Wheeler in the 1920s & the ruins of the bathhouse & temple to Nodens are visible.
