After finally adopting a nondiscrimination ordinance with protections for the LGBTQ community, Holly Springs is gearing up for a festive Pride Month.
In an interview with the INDY, Kondratick credited the Pride of Holly Springs organization for advocating for the passage of the NDO and for “helping council members understand the importance of the LGBTQIA+ community to Holly Springs.”
Since 2023, the city of Durham has fined Brenntag $157,000 for violations related to water contamination.
Mayor Jacques Gilbert introduced a Hail Mary 0-cent increase budget proposal right before the vote; the council rejected it unanimously.
In the past 15 years, WCPSS has lost more than $500 million in local funding as families look to charters as an alternative to public and private schools.
“Had Jason or the other occupants of the laundry room been able to freely exit the room, or otherwise summon assistance, emergency personnel could have been alerted sooner and provided lifesaving care earlier,” the lawsuit asserts.
Leaders from WakeMed and Atrium Health touted the benefits of the proposed $2 billion merger ahead of a vote that will allow the deal to move forward.
