U.S. District Judge Patrick Schiltz, a G. W. Bush appointee, didn't hold back. He ruled there was no doubt the subpoenas were issued to punish Walz for refusing to help carry out Trump's immigration crackdown, calling it a blatantly unlawful and unethical use of the grand jury process.
