This sentiment is hopeful but way off base. Energy price spikes are cyclical, and we've had many before - 2022 wasn't even that long ago! Policy moves slower than markets. policymakers across countries will seek short term responses, and pressure will abate before long term solutions are implemented

While Irans use of the energy weapon is probably going to work it will degrade it through the policy response elsewhere: absolutely breakneck decarbonisation. A bit like US sanctions.
