Lord Howe island is a seven-million-year-old volcanic treasure trove of unique wildlife 600 kilometres off Australia's coast. After a successful program to eradicate invasive rats and mice, the island's "wonderful" and unique insect life is now bouncing back.

Went out to an undisclosed location - a creek in Queensland's vast Sunshine Coast hinterland - to get a closer look at Australia's incredible, and threatened, spiny crayfish. There are 52 known spiny crayfish species and 36 of them are on the national threatened species list.
