There is a problem with the stories we tell & the way we perceive how change happens. The Union of Pinnacle Tenants, the largest tenant-led union in NYC—are the reason Mamdani took action. Organized people power is pivotal. Top down stories of elected heroes (even ones we like) are not sufficient.
We could not have done this work outside of our partnerships with tenant organizations--their insights, ideas, and experiences were the basis of our arguments. This research is a product of deeply engaged research that centered the experiences & perspectives of the people w/ the most at stake.

You already know about Mamdani, but do you know about the incredible work of the Union of Pinnacle Tenants? And why aren’t we telling that story? Who benefits when we onscure the power of ordinary people organized for change? www.pinnacletenants.org/about-us
