What is lost when women live haunted by the possibility of seeming crazy and being written off on that basis? katemanne.substack.com/p/when-youre...
Cats are fundamentally great katemanne.substack.com/p/the-case-f...
The female victims get erased; the male perpetrators' bright futures matter more than what the girls have suffered. It's the same old injustice in a slick and unconvincing veneer
Re-imagining and restructuring the criminal justice system is a vast, vital project. In the meantime, a judge who sentences two male perpetrators to zero jail time for *ten counts of rape* is failing to hold them accountable in the only way we currently can

My unpopular opinion: anti-carceral reasoning gets trotted out selectively to rationalize the least progressive dynamic. It's called himpathy katemanne.substack.com/p/how-not-to...
Strongly encourage all the fellas to read this from @katemanne.bsky.social. Recommended to me by several women scientists.
Manne’s framework is misogyny as a social code that enforces patriarchy. It opens with discussion of incel violence and broadens from there.

Nearly all my friends have been called “crazy” when they were too direct, too angry or non compliant. Kate Manne elaborates. So do I, writing about the term “diffucult”—see the link in comments.

Lovely piece from @katemanne.bsky.social , the ending of which will prove that it's not only "now time for something completely different", though it is of course that too.
Anti-carceral sentiments get selectively trotted out in service of himpathy.
